"To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified." Isaiah 61:3

Verse Of The Day – August 12th, 2015 – Tough as Nails

“My flesh and heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” – Psalm 73:26

Jesus was strong enough to endure the cross; maybe not in flesh, but His inner strength came from God.  He knew what He had to do in order to save mankind.  His holy spirit was left behind to live in us, and help us through our battles on this journey of life.  If we have Jesus living in us, there’s nothing we can’t get through or accomplish.  He is our portion, given by God.  Much like in communion we all take a portion of bread, and remember what He did for us. So when we come across something difficult in life, we remember what was done for us already, and keep moving on with that inner strength that is tough as nails.  There is nothing impossible with God.  (Luke 1:37)  We have the ability to fail God, over and over, but God’s love doesn’t fail.  The Cross was a symbol of that very thing.
