“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” – 1 Corinthians 16:13
The song, “O Canada,” says, “God keep our land, glorious and free. Oh Canada, we stand on guard for thee. Oh Canada, we stand on guard for thee.”
In the bible God commands us to be on guard. To stand firm in our faith; be courageous, and strong. That’s exactly what the men and women who are represented on November 11th did, when they fought for Canada. Remembrance Day stands for all of these things.
If it weren’t for these men and women, we may not be able to stand with liberty for what we believe in. There still remains much persecution in the world; however, when we place our trust in the hand of God, and step forward in faith for what we believe in, we need not fear. The Lord has already gone before us. (Deuteronomy 31:8) Just as men and women have gone before us, so that we might live for today; Jesus went on before us, so that we might live for eternity. (John 3:16)
“Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident.” – Psalm 27:3
God loves Canada, the men and women in it, and the men and women that strive to protect it. So this remembrance day I pledge to take a moment, to remember the ones that were lost on November 11th, and pray for the families left behind. Lest Ye Forget.
