“Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.” Proverbs 18:12 I have heard the saying, “death before dishonor,” on many an occasion. Usually while watching war movies. I often wonder – what does that really mean? Does it mean that […]

“If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place.” – Nora Roberts
I was sitting around one day pondering life, and a thought crossed my mind. I thought about how miraculous it is that babies can live in a womb, without even being able to breath. For me I was thinking on the surface – If a person stops breathing or cannot breathe, then certainly they can’t live. The miracle of life, and how God facilitated it is so amazing. How God infused the human spirit into the baby before it was even born. The bible says God knew us before we were ever formed. (Jeremiah 1:5) Scientifically speaking, the mother breathes for the baby. So all the oxygen that is distributed to the mother’s blood cells, are then passed onto the baby. But nature couldn’t have naturally created a process, there was a creator and driving force behind it. We need more than blood, water, and air to live. We need the holy spirit and fire breathing life into us.
“If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. God’s ways are as mysterious as the pathway of the wind and as the manner in which a human spirit is infused into the little body of a baby while it is yet in its mother’s womb.” – Ecclesiastes 11:4-5
If u are in a circumstance where you are unsure of how God will facilitate and bring life to what is in your heart, or you are holding back in fear (which is a lack of faith) Know that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20) He created the world and all that lives in it, is there anything too big for him? He stopped the sun for Joshua.
“So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies. Is this event not recorded in [The Book of Jashar]? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and it did not set as on a normal day.” – Joshua 10:13
Sometimes we are blinded by fear, which is not of God. We want to fast forward or rewind when we really need to play it forward. Perfect love casts out fear. (1 John 4:18)
“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” – Psalm 23:4
We hang onto what we know, and repeat history, instead of walking into what God has prepared for us. If you want to be a writer, write. If you want to be an artist, paint. If you want to make a difference in your workplace, speak up. If you want to be a football player, go try out! Failed in the past, try again! Learn from your mistakes and move on. God can use it all, and turn your mess into a miracle. He created us out of the dust of the earth…..Ponder on that for a moment….
We need to take steps of faith, and get out of our comfort zones sometimes. Go after what you want, it’s certainly not going to just fall into your lap. Otherwise all you have is a rut. We want to blame everything on our past, or our current circumstances. Give over to God what you cannot change, and work on what you can.
Rick Warren said, “Faith is more than believing. Faith is more than thinking, talking, or having convictions about Jesus. Faith is action. It is movement; it is activity. Faith is something you do.” Faith without works is dead. (James 2:14-17)
If God is for us who can be against us? (Romans 8:31) If we have the love of God on our side, the creator of the world, that should erase all fear. We should know that if we pray over something, and take a step of faith, God has already gone before us.
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” – Deuteronomy 31:8
Faith is the substance of what we cant see (Hebrews 11:1) And we know, nothing is impossible with God. (Matthew 19:26)
God dresses the lilies of the field, he feeds and keeps his eyes on the sparrows; He knows them by number. How much more does he care for us? Made in his very image…. (Genesis 1:27) If a child asks for a loaf of bread, his father with surely give it to him. How much more will our heavenly father do for us – his children. (Matthew 7:9)
“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? ” – Matthew 6:28-30
God loves us tremendously, and wants to give us the desires of our heart. (Psalm 20:4) Entrust your will to the Lord, and He will guide you in the right direction. He cares about every detail of our lives .
“The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” – Psalm 37:23
Whatever we go through in our lives, there is a place prepared for us, a reward to end our journey on this earth. But on this earth there are also blessings to be had. Trade all your troubles for the joy of the Lord. (Isaiah 61:3, Psalm 30:11) In HIM there is fullness of Joy. (Psalm 16:11) Whatever step you need to take today, in whatever area of your life, take His hand and take a step forward.
“There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?” – John 14:2
