    Windows of Opportunity

“When you have that window of opportunity called a crisis, move as quickly as you can, get as much done as you can. There’s a momentum for change that’s very compelling” Anne M Mulcahy There comes a time in our lives when we are faced with windows of testing, windows of blessing, and windows of opportunity. When Noah built the ark, there was a window of opportunity. When he was faced with adversity and doubt, there was a window of testing. In the end, because Noah held onto his faith, and the window to the ark was opened, there was the window of blessing. “After forty days Noah opened a…

    Broken Records

Ever notice how some people feel the need to blast the music they are listening to.  I drove by someone who was blaring their music so loud… I cant ever understand it.  Can u not hear it good enough for yourself?  Or is the message behind the song so urgent that you need to force it on the rest of us? The bible says to travail and pray without ceasing.  (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) But be assured that God is not deaf to your cries.  He knows our hearts cry before we utter a single word.  I often hear from my fiance, i’m not a mind reader! As in, “Be specific.”…

    Steps of faith

“Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed.”  – Luke 17:14 I can envision Simon the leper; cast away from all he knew, hiding behind a Rock.  Watching and waiting for Jesus to come heal him from his afflictions.  Jesus came through the village between Galilee and Samaria, which was situated to hold all who were diseased with leprosy.  It was believed back then that if you had disease it was surely because you had sin in your life. Little did Simon know that the Lord would use such an affliction to show His glory and power to the leaders of that day.   Simon probably lost…

    Faith In Action

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” – Hebrews 11:1 Trust is an act of faith.   Faith is not evident in your life if you do not activate it.   “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” – James 2:17 It takes faith to trust in God. You can’t see Him, but you know in your heart He is there, and that He loves you beyond measure.  Jesus died on the cross and left his Holy Spirit as our comforter; to encourage us in our faith, as signs and wonders follow them that believe. (Mark 16:17) The Lord…

To be a Christian you MUST have a PhD

After church one Sunday morning, I was watching football game.  So okay, I was sort of watching a football game.  I really am not that big of a football fan, but nevertheless you are supposed to try and support the interests of your significant other, so I was being…supportive. At one point the sports announcer person said that to be a football player, you must have a PhD.   He went on to say that all of these men in fact do have PhD’s.  I was like wow!  Then he said to have a PHD you must have Passion, Hunger, and Drive. Immediately my brain started thinking, “Hey that’s not much…

    Ground Zero

“For the LORD is the one who shaped the mountains, stirs up the winds, and reveals his thoughts to mankind. He turns the light of dawn into darkness and treads on the heights of the earth. The LORD God of Heaven’s Armies is his name!” – Amos 4:13 The definition of Ground Zero – is a point on the earth’s surface above, or below, or a position at which an explosion occurs.  It is a culmination/turning point, a fast change, or an enduring intense activity.  It is a starting point, or a return to the beginning point. Serving God is sort of like being a mountain climber.  Our flesh doesn’t…

    Go Ahead And Ask

“Gideon said to God, “If you will save Israel by my hand as you have promised— look, I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece and all the ground is dry, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you said.” And that is what happened. Gideon rose early the next day; he squeezed the fleece and wrung out the dew—a bowlful of water.”  Judges 6:36-38  Gideon wondered why all sorts of bad things were happening in his life.  Much like we often ask the question in this world today, as to why God would…
